Who was Ralph Dunstan?
Ralph Dunstan became involved in the junior club in the late 1970’s when his sons, Stephen and Matthew, started playing. When the RDCA brought in the requirement for all clubs to have a nominated junior administrator Ralph became our first junior administrator.
Ralph was also a team manger. When Ralph’s elder son (Stephen) was too old to play juniors Ralph joined Stephen in the senior third eleven. It was during this time Ralph was able to introduce juniors and former juniors to that new world of “senior” cricket.
Ralph was heavily involved with both the junior and senior clubs for around 15 years.
Sadly Ralph passed away in 2013.
What is this awarded for?
The Ralph Dunstan Shield is awarded to the winner of the Bowling Trophy (Best Average) in the top-graded Under 16 team.
